We at Amy’s Angels are deeply saddened by the passing of Lisa Harlow, a courageous single mother of three children ages 18,16, and 14. Lisa valiantly fought metastatic breast cancer for eight years. In late 2017 Amy’s Angels became involved with Lisa and her family and ran a benefit to help provide financial support while she continued her fight against her illness.

Both Lisa and Amy whom Amy’s Angels was created in memory of were very much the same.

They were two single mothers who fought so courageously a dreaded disease, inspired by the fierce love of their children.

Lisa’s journey has so inspired us that we will be creating “Lisa’s Fund at Amy’s Angels” which will focus on the needs of surviving school age children who have lost a parent to a serious illness or injury. This will keep Lisa’s memory very much alive forever. This is fitting as Lisa’s biggest concern when she became involved with Amy’s Angels was how she would be able to help others instead of herself.

Please see below the fitting tribute to Lisa from her daughter Kayla. I invite everyone to consider supporting Lisa’s fund, our newest initiative at Amy’s Angels. To donate please click donate button below or by mail to Lisa’s Fund at Amy’s Angels, 90 Hopmeadow St, Simsbury, CT 06089.

Sadly last night the best angel was gained. After about 8 years of constantly fighting cancer, her pain and suffering has come to an end. My Mom has always been our best friend and guardian angel on earth. For 18 years, she has showed unconditional love, strength, and perseverance. Eight years ago, my Mom took on the role of both Mother and father figure to us. A couple years after that, she was diagnosed with stage four metastatic breast cancer and still continued to never miss a second of our lives. She has been the only one there on the sidelines, in the crowd clapping, or even the only one to watch us blow out our candles on a birthday cake. She has influenced mine and my brothers life tremendously in our past and future. She has been our best friend, worst enemy, and biggest supporter everyday for 18 years, and has taught us basically everything we know about life and what it has to offer. I will never forget the random adventures, laughs (sometimes swears), and our happy hours on the deck. We will forever cherish that we had gotten the privilege to learn life lessons and share countless memories with one of the strongest, funniest, best humans there is. As life goes on we will miss her in everything we do and constantly look to her for guidance and reassurance but we know she is in a better, pain free place… happy hour at a open bar🍷🍷🍷 Rest In Peace Mom “love you more” ❤️❤️❤️ And as our Mom would say “Yep cancer sucks.”

Lisa’s story has been fully funded and is now closed. Please consider making a donation to help other families in need!
